Readers' Workshop Speech Q1
Dear students
You will be making a short speech next week about your favourite book you have read so far this (academic) year.
You need to include the following points in your speech:
- Short summary of your book (no longer than 1 minute)
- Choose 5 objects which are important to your book and explain why they are important
- Recommend your book to a type of person and explain why they'd like it
Explanations:
1. What should be in a summary? Characters, setting, plot
2. 5 real life objects.
3. For example - Grade 6 students would like this book because it is age-appropriate and it is set in a middle school. Tuesday, 4 October 2011
Quiz (Prejudice)
We are studying about prejudice at the moment, both causes of prejudice and the solutions.
We will have a quiz next week about this topic. You will read a story about prejudice and answer comprehension questions about it.
